3 Easy ways to Boost your SEO content in 2022
Heading into 2022 it seems apparent from SEO expert roundups. As well as various polls and forums related to budget allocation for SEO related tasks. That many brands and marketing teams are looking to drastically increase their internal content creation this year. A recent poll for this cited that 46% of all U.S. businesses are looking to focus on onsite SEO in 2022 over technical or even off-site SEO.
That trend is likely a lot higher given who tends to respond to polls (marketers, etc.) With content becoming the focus for many this year. I wanted to throw out a few ideas around how you can dramatically boost the amount of SEO content you may be trying to create.
Of course, there are hundreds of ways to boost your content. To me, these 3 stand out due to their feasibility, equipment requirements, and easy implementation. You can literally do all of these with a single phone, computer, and a few free apps. Furthermore, you can get these done either by yourself or just 1 additional person. You can also get a ton of content to stretch or dump as you want to match your content calendars.
As always I wish you the best of organic luck and may the search algorithms be ever in your favor.

- Podcasting and Voice Conversations
Podcasting it seems is the new wave of media and radio to jump on. While I am not 100% recommend you get yourself a daily podcast show going. A weekly or even monthly session could certainly garner a lot of attention especially if it is around a specialized or niche subject.
Simplifying this a bit more you could keep things as bare bones as a meeting with a single recording device (like your phone). In this meeting you can simply discuss and converse about any given topic. Ideally with 2-4 people the meeting and content could be really engaging and cover a lot of different viewpoints and facets of any given subject.
Regardless of how you get a session and conversation recorded, once it is done you can really spin the gold out of it. All you have to do is listen through the session, earmark key moments and topics. Do a little bit of editing to ensure flow, dead air, and idle chit chat is removed as needed. Then finalize the whole thing by adding a small intro and outro. Lastly make sure you transcribe the whole thing and add it to your blog.
If you are lucky enough or have a good set of people discussing. There is a good chance you could even break this single session and recording into multiple posts and snippets. All of which can be great engaging pieces for social media campaigns. - Videos and Hot-takes
While webinars and small video series are definitely nothing new. They are not something I see leveraged a whole lot. Especially for raw content, social media, and blog posts it seems to me. It is one of those things that everyone knows can have a lot of benefit but either doesn’t have the resources or desire to give it a try.
Regardless, if it is something you are willing to give a shot. I can guarantee you will see a 3x-5x return on your investment and tons of organic mentions/links. That said, video has to be done right in the sense that it has to be engaging, entertaining, and easy to internalize. One of the best ways I have seen this done personally is through conversational videos covering questions related to your industry.
Not only are these pretty easy to organize and get going. They tend to also be really easy to shoot and present well. Sure you may need to trim 10 seconds here and there but with a quick Q&A. Your total video time shouldn’t be more than maybe 5 minutes or so. To that same end you would be surprised just how many words and text you can produce in that amount of time by just talking.
Another possible way of utilizing video content to boost your SEO content is by creating “hot-takes” on a subject. If you are unfamiliar with what a hot-take is. In general it is a fairly raw and unedited response to a question, fact, or statement. Tik-Tok has been incredibly successful because of hot-take and reactive content. This is a good spot to note that while this kind of content is great for your blog. It can be a unique asset for your business if you decide to use this content on Tik-Tok in addition to other content channels.
Finalizing video and hot-take content is pretty simple, again do minor editing to help things look professional and clean. After that you can add an intro and out as needed. Then cap the whole thing off by taking screenshots (a great way to tie in traditional social media and image search) and transcribing the whole video.
- Curated Customer/User Feedback
Down to the final suggestion on my list here. The success and scale of this one really depend on your audience and following size. Even if you only have 50 people following your blog or social media this suggestion can be effective. The general idea here is to get comments based on a question, statement, fact, or anything else you deem relevant to your business.
An example of this would be Reddit’s highly successful subreddit ‘r/askreddit’. Where basically any user can ask the reddit community a question. From their it is up to the community to provide answers, rate comments given, and in general surprise the internet time and time again. While Reddit is a wild example with millions of users and participants the concept is really no different for you and your business.
Simply ask your followers a question, tell them a fact, or show them something cool. Get their opinions and comments and curate as needed. Then use this information to create a completely unique and one-of-a-kind piece of content that features your customers/users. Not only does this get you some free content. It can actually help generate brand loyalty and better brand engagement in the future.
